Default Weather Conditions

I would also like to see the effects of weather and armour that people are wearing.

Pretty funny seeing a Warrior in glad's in the Shiverpeaks, or Ranger in fur-lined in the Desert.

There should be temperature guage to armor and the area you're in.
For example:
(area mod) + (armour mod) = damage per second(absolute value)

Say temperature guage: Shiverpeaks is -3, Desert is +3, Kryta is +1
Armour mod: Gladiator's is -3, Ascalon is +3 (just for example)

Glad's in the Shiverpeaks:
(-3) + (-3) = -6, therefore 6 dmg per second.

Ascalon in Shiverpeaks:
(-3) + (+3) = 0, therefore no damage.

Ascalon in Kryta:
(+1) + (+3) = 4, therefore 4 damage per second.

I'm only using the warrior as an illustration, it also applies to tattooed monks and necros running around in the Shiverpeaks.

And if this has already been posted, forgive me - the search function is not working.

This would be kinda neat, only it wouldn't work very well.
Look at all the female armor. Mesmers run around in PJs, Ele's wear the least possible things they can find. Rangers run around in a bikini (15k druids).
Monks in general run around in sandals or barefoot (same with necros) and throw in the tatoo armor...
Ele's are my favorite example here. If coverage were key to the design, then the hydromancers and pyromancers armor would be reversed.
While the idea is great, it just wouldn't work well here.

sorry can you clarify.

question:

damage to yourself or buff?

This suggestion would be realistic, yet IMO not a big enough issue, and it might complicate the current system of things. (You just dont fight the monsters/atks, but you also need to protect yourself against mother nature?right?)

Armor storage here we come!

/fenx.

The damage would be yourself over time. Kind of like the first zone in the Dragon's Lair. The only thing is you could offset the damage with the proper armour.

They could even have the same armour types - except if you bought it in the desert it would have a different skin and weather modifier.

Example:
Gladiator's armour from the desert (-3 temp mod) current skin.
Gladiator's from the Shiverpeaks (+3 temp mod) full, fur covered skin (or something)

It would also act as a nice gold sink.

i just think this'd spaz up the game for ppl who wear armour for its mods not for the temperature.....
Itd end up every1 wearing the warmest armour or coolest and this'd mean youd need like a set of each...
Unless u can mod it for a radiator/airconditioning

I would like to be able to choose the look of my armor then decide what modifier to have on it. I don't want have an armor I don't like the look of just because it has the mods I want. Have it let you choose the armor and the mods not one or the other. I know it sounds vain but some buy FoW just for the look.

maybe we could have something like:
-when in desert with ascalon armor (warrior) you would move slower, becouse it's too much to wear there
-15k druids (ranger female) in shiverpeak would have the same effect.
-but then, ascalon armor in shiverpeak or 15k druids in desert would be the opposite!

I don't know about weather conditions affecting game play...

but my vote definately goes for change in the weather. Even in the book that comes with the game, (tyrian lore). It says:

Season - Alighnment - Days
Season of the Zeyphr - Air - 1 - 90
Season of the Pheonix - Flame 91 - 180
Season of the Scion - Water - 181 - 270
Season of the Colossus - Earth - 271 - 360

I never noticed the season change at all. They should create seasons and have them change according to these days (maybe even with transitional periods). Theoretically, we would be nearing the end of the Season of the Zeyphr. Someone sticky this or something.

/signed for this. I'd love to see a slow change in the weather. heck, just a casual shower would be cool too. I mean, Shiverpeeks is just a little prettier with the constant flurries, why not a nice Jungle rain at certain intervals? Asking it to effect gameplay may be a little extreme though...unless its seasonal and specific to certain areas/objects. Example:

Tyrian Spring: a small pond.
Tyrian summer: a dry patch of ground
Tyrian Fall: a mudpuddle (slows movement)
Tyrian Winter: Ice (like Grotto)
